Development of analytical seismic fragility functions for the common buildings in Iran

One of the main components for developing regional seismic risk models is fragility functions common building types. Due to differences between national design codes, construction practices, and materials, it necessary develop specific types which are constructed in each region. For this reason, present study devoted filling essential gap Iran. Therefore, first step, existing country classified into 31 categories regarding material, lateral-load-resisting system, height, code level. Also, by conducting comprehensive studies on all previously performed research country, structural dynamic parameters have been collected buildings class. This information was used compute a large set backbone curves Iranian taxonomy. Then nearly three hundred appropriate were generated using non-linear time-history analyses generic ground motion records. Based empirical data from past earthquakes validation resulting carried out.
